I’m sure you remember being at school and being asked to stand up in front of the class to tell everyone about yourself. I hated doing that, I’m not shy but seriously there are limits I’m not an actress either, so looking at all those expectant faces waiting to hear something interesting always gave me stage fright.
Writing my about me page is akin to that experience, it’s time for me to stand up and say something interesting that will tell you what sort of person I am and how likeable I am, so no pressure then.
Here goes….. I’m a documentary wedding photographer, I love photography and I love weddings, so choosing a career as a wedding photographer means I have pretty much my dream job. I have an uncomplicated approach, photographing the day as it happens without interfering.
I was a bride and now am a wife I’m also a mum to a gorgeous little girl, so when I’m not photographing a wedding I can usually be found baking, painting, bouncing on a trampoline or doing anything that keeps my daughter giggling, because that really is the nicest sound on earth.
I live in Newbury but I grew up in a tiny chocolate box village you’ve probably never heard of near Silverstone in Northamptonshire. This might be the reason why prior to being a wedding photographer I worked in Formula One. I don’t think you can live anywhere near Silverstone without getting the Formula One bug, but I am so glad I did because I met my fantastic husband while working for a team and the rest as they say is history!
I am petrified of heights but love to ski, the two things do not go hand in hand and I can regularly been seen on chair lifts clinging on for dear life. I also love to scuba dive, I did my first dive on a sunken boat in Barabados and was utterly hooked from there; although I might be true to say I am in fact a fair water diver, I definitely prefer the clear warm waters off exotic islands than the murky cold ones off the UK!
